Health Services Program

Building Healthier Lives Through Prevention and Education

VCD’s Health Services Program is dedicated to promoting preventative health education and addressing the underlying causes of health issues in the community.

Our program offers comprehensive resources, education, and services that aim to enhance the overall health and well-being of individuals and families in the Saginaw and Buena Vista communities, which were particularly hard-hit by the pandemic. Taking an “upstream” approach, VCD focuses on addressing social determinants of health—such as lifestyle habits, behaviors, and environmental conditions—to create sustainable, long-term improvements in health outcomes. Through this holistic model, VCD empowers residents to take control of their health and fosters a healthier, more resilient community.

Health Education

Provides families, seniors, and individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to take care of themselves, including information about the community resources available to them.

Access to Resources

Collaborates with community partners to ensure equitable access to health services for underserved populations.

Focus on Prevention

The program emphasizes prevention over reaction, ensuring that individuals can address health issues before they escalate into more serious conditions.
