VCD Youth Wraps up Summer with Celebration at Birch Park
Victorious Community Development’s youth program concluded its summer activities with a community celebration at Birch Park in Saginaw. The event brought together students, families, mentors, and volunteers for an afternoon of fun, food, and back-to-school preparation.
Backpacks and school supplies were handed out to the young attendees, ensuring the students begin the new academic year with the materials they need to succeed. The giveaway also helped ease the financial burden that many families face when preparing for school.

The celebration featured a variety of outdoor games and activities designed to encourage teamwork and community engagement. Children participated in relay races, played basketball, and enjoyed open play areas. The relaxed, family-friendly setting reflected the supportive environment that has defined VCD’s youth program throughout the summer.

For program leaders, the Birch Park event marked the culmination of months of youth enrichment. Throughout the summer, participants took part in educational trips, STEM experiences, swim safety lessons, and community cleanups. The end-of-summer celebration provided an opportunity to recognize that growth and to send students into the school year with a renewed sense of confidence and belonging.
As the afternoon drew to a close, volunteers helped children pack up their new supplies and say their goodbyes. The gathering served as both a reflection of a productive summer and a reminder of VCD’s ongoing commitment to educating, empowering, and elevating the next generation of community leaders.
