Victorious Community Development Awarded $150,000 Grant from Consumers Energy Foundation to Support Bishop Marvin C. Pryor IMPACT Center
Victorious Community Development (VCD) is proud to announce a $150,000 grant award from the Consumers Energy Foundation to support the development of the Bishop Marvin C. Pryor IMPACT Center, a transformational community investment designed to create opportunities for children, strengthen families, and support the future of Saginaw.
The grant, awarded over two years, includes $75,000 in 2026 and an additional $75,000 in 2027. The funding represents an important investment in VCD’s mission and its continued efforts to bring the IMPACT Center to life.
Located in the former Trinity Lutheran School building in Saginaw, the Bishop Marvin C. Pryor IMPACT Center is being developed as a hub for youth enrichment, educational advancement, mentorship, and community connection. The center will provide a welcoming environment where young people can explore new interests, build skills, and access opportunities that help prepare them for success.
“This investment from the Consumers Energy Foundation is about so much more than financial support. It is a demonstration of belief in our children, our families, and the future of Saginaw,” said Pastor Chris Pryor, President of Victorious Community Development. “We are incredibly grateful for partners who recognize the potential of this community and are willing to invest in the spaces and opportunities our young people deserve. Over the past 15 years we’ve had a great working relationship working with Consumer Energy.”
The IMPACT Center will offer programming focused on academic enrichment, technology, creative exploration, and personal development. Through activities such as robotics, coding, arts, and mentorship, VCD aims to create pathways for young people to discover their strengths, build confidence, and develop skills that will serve them throughout their lives. “Our formula for change is simple, Academics + Adventure = Impact,” said Pryor.
The project also represents a significant investment in the revitalization of an existing neighborhood asset, transforming a former school building into a place of possibility for future generations. The Consumers Energy Foundation’s support comes at a pivotal moment as VCD continues advancing facility improvements, building community partnerships, and preparing for the center’s future operations. Each child deserves an equal opportunity to learn and explore career opportunities. “This investment is more than financial support; it helps to give each child a clear view into their futures and the world of possibilities available to them.” said Brandon Hofmeister, president of the Consumers Energy Foundation.
“Bringing a vision like this to life takes a community of partners who see what is possible and are committed to making it happen,” said Pryor. “We are thankful to the Consumers Energy Foundation for standing alongside us as we work to create something that will have a meaningful and lasting impact on Saginaw.” With continued support from public, private, and philanthropic partners, VCD is moving closer to opening the doors of the Bishop Marvin C. Pryor IMPACT Center and creating a space where young people and families can learn, grow, and thrive.
