VCD is striving to bring Advance Peace to Saginaw, introducing a proven, community-centered approach to reducing gun violence. Through this partnership, we aim to interrupt cycles of retaliation and provide life-changing mentorship and opportunities for young men at the highest risk. Together, we are building a safer, stronger, and more hopeful future for our community.
Victorious Community Development is diligently working alongside the Saginaw Police Department to enhance the safety and well-being of our community. Through this collaboration, we aim to address systemic issues and provide educational programs that strengthen the skills of individuals who may not have had access to these opportunities in the past. Our goal is to foster long-term transformation by equipping people with the knowledge and resources to create positive change in their lives. This initiative is supported by the MCOLES grant.
Currently, VCD is proud to be working in collaboration with Advance Peace, a National Evidence-Based Program dedicated to ending cyclical and retaliatory gun violence in American urban neighborhoods. Through our partnership with Advance Peace, we are helping to interrupt the cycle of gun violence by providing transformational opportunities for young men involved in lethal firearm offenses.
Advance Peace’s approach is the Peacemaker Fellowship, a high-touch, personalized fellowship that offers mentorship, education, and community engagement to guide these young men toward positive change. This innovative program aligns perfectly with our mission to strengthen lives by offering education and skill-building to those who may not have had access to these opportunities before.
With the continued success of these programs and a growing need for support, we are reaching out to inquire about upcoming funding opportunities that can help us expand our impact. We are excited about the progress we’ve made, but there is still much work to be done to help transform lives and foster a safer, more peaceful community in Saginaw.
