Youth Community Violence Prevention and Intervention Initiative
Our Youth Community Violence Prevention and Intervention Initiative is dedicated to reducing youth violence by employing evidence-based, community-centered, and youth-driven strategies.
This initiative goes beyond addressing the symptoms of violence; it tackles the root causes and long-term impacts by fostering safe, supportive, and healthy environments where young people can thrive. Through a combination of leadership development, social justice education, and personal empowerment, the initiative equips youth with the tools to make positive life choices and become active contributors to their community. By engaging youth directly and involving them in the solution, the program aims to build a safer, more resilient community for everyone.
Youth Engagement
Increases community involvement among young people by providing leadership development opportunities, teaching conflict resolution skills, and encouraging civic participation.
Social Justice Education
Educates residents on recognizing and confronting oppression, promoting empowerment and self-advocacy.
Community Safety
Collaborates with law enforcement, child-serving systems, and other stakeholders to create a sustainable, community-driven strategy for reducing violence and improving safety.
Desired Outcomes
The program aims to improve social bonds within the community, foster family cohesion, and create a safer, healthier environment for youth and their families.
